What the Research Shows
Organic Honey
What is it?
This naturally sweet, golden liquid, created by bees has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
What does the research say?
Research has shown that honey can reduce the frequency and severity of coughs related to the common cold and help your little one sleep better. Research also shows that Dextromethorphan, the main ingredient found in most conventional cough syrups, is no more effective than honey, and is not recommended due to safety concerns for children under 6.

Organic Monk Fruit
What is it?
Monk fruit, or lo han guo, is a small green melon native to southern China and named after the monks who first cultivated it centuries ago.
What does the research say?
This powder extracted from the ancient monk fruit is a natural sweetener that has zero sugar yet makes our remedies taste great so kids will love them! More research is needed but there is some evidence that Monk Fruit may help relieve coughs and decrease mucus. Other brands use Agave which is high in sugar and we think your baby is sweet enough!
Organic Elderberry Extract
What is it?
These brilliant berries from the European Elder tree pack a mighty antioxidant punch and help to support the immune system.
What does the research say?
There is some evidence that elderberry can help shorten the duration and severity of symptoms of the common cold and even influenza.*
Zinc
What is it?
This is a magnificent mineral and an essential nutrient, meaning our bodies can’t store it and we must get it in our diet or from supplements. Zinc plays a role in many physiological processes including immune function.
What does the research say?
Zinc has reliably been shown to shorten the duration and decrease severity of the common cold, helping your little one to get back to playing sooner!
Vitamin C
What is it?
This amazing antioxidant and long time favorite to battle colds is a water soluble vitamin that plays a role in antioxidant function, protein synthesis and protein metabolism to name a few.
What does the research say?
There is some evidence that Vitamin C may decrease the duration and severity of the common cold and may even help prevent colds in some people.
Vitamin D
What is it?
This vibrant vitamin is a fat soluble vitamin that is present in some foods and supplements and can be made in the human body when the skin is exposed to sunlight.
What does the research say?
In addition to playing a key role in supporting immune function, research has shown it can help reduce the risk of colds and the flu in most people and especially in people who may be low in Vitamin D. During the winter and the peak of cold and flu season is when we are at the most risk for Vitamin D deficiency, which is why our organic cough syrups give a little boost of Vitamin D in their formulation.
